ABDOMINOPLASTY DUBAI: IMPROVE THE SHAPE OF YOUR TUMMY AREA

To make the tummy area appear flatter, tighter, and more sculpted, undesirable, loose skin and tissue are surgically removed during an Abdominoplasty. Women who have stretched their abdominal muscles and skin beyond what can be repaired due to weight loss or repeated pregnancies may benefit most from an Abdominoplasty. Additionally, the surgery can help older patients who have lost skin elasticity.

Both women and men choose to have an Abdominoplasty where they have excess skin after experiencing significant changes in their weight. This type of surgery required varies according to the extent and type of issues. Often a full abdominoplasty is required. Sometimes it is possible to perform more limited surgery. If, for example, your fat deposits are limited to the area below the navel (lower tummy), you may require a less complex procedure called a ‘mini abdominoplasty’.

WHAT EXACTLY IS AN ABDOMINOPLASTY?

An Abdominoplasty is a surgical procedure that flattens the abdomen by removing excess fat and skin and tightening the abdominal muscles. It’s a popular choice for individuals who struggle with the inability to achieve their desired results through diet and exercise alone.

IS AN ABDOMINOPLASTY RIGHT FOR ME?

Many patients decide to get an Abdominoplasty because, as they age, their skin becomes looser or more skin forms around their tummy area. An Abdominoplasty can help you restore your natural shape and boost your self-esteem by reshaping your abdominal area. Along with liposuction, it’s essential to keep in mind that an Abdominoplasty is not a substitute for weight loss.

There are several reasons why people develop a weak abdomen and excessive loose skin around the tummy area, including:

– Extreme weight loss

– Post-pregnancy

– Puberty & hormonal changes

– Ageing & loss of elasticity

– Whilst entirely natural, an excess of looser skin can contribute to poor body confidence.

Our plastic surgeon, Dr. Maurizio Viel, will examine your abdomen’s muscles, soft tissue, and skin during your initial consultation. He will also talk with you about your expectations and go over which operation or combination of procedures will best meet your needs.

A FULL ABDOMINOPLASTY

Compared to a mini tummy tuck, a Full Abdominoplasty is more extensive. This kind of abdominoplasty is appropriate for people who have weaker abdominal muscles above and below the belly button, as well as more extra skin and fat.

To reach the muscles and tissue in the area, Dr. Maurizio Viel will first make an incision across your lower abdomen from hip to hip, usually below the bikini line. This incision will be used to trim away extra skin, create a new belly button, tighten the muscles underneath, and remove any excess fat. After that, Dr. Maurizio Viel will stitch the skin back into place and close the incisions.

In many cases, our Abdominoplasty surgeries are also combined with a circumferential 360 VASER Liposuction around the area to remove the excess fat to give a better aesthetic and optimal results.

WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR AN ABDOMINOPLASTY?

Before undergoing an Abdominoplasty, you should be in good physical condition and at a stable weight. Men and women who have gained weight in the past and are now at a healthy weight but whose belly protrudes excessively in relation to the rest of their body are candidates for an Abdominoplasty.

Abdominoplasty requests are frequently made by women who have finished having children and are unhappy with drooping or excess abdominal skin in addition to rectus diastasis, a condition in which the muscles in the abdomen have become weak and separated because of several pregnancies.

If otherwise healthy, patients who have lost a significant amount of weight through diet and exercise or after bariatric surgery may be eligible for a unique kind of lower body lift or vertical abdominoplasty.

Smokers and those with serious health issues are not appropriate for an Abdominoplasty. To receive the finest long-term results, postpone surgery if you haven’t reached your goal weight yet. Waiting until your family is complete is a good idea if you intend to have further children. Candidates should avoid having irrational expectations or being influenced by others to alter their look.

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER AN ABDOMINOPLASTY

Following an Abdominoplasty, moderate pain, discomfort, and swelling are common, just as with any surgical operation. Excessive pain, bleeding, infection, blood clots, and numbness are among the complications and possible adverse effects. Our skilled surgeons at Cornerstone take the required precautions and employ surgical methods to prevent unfavourable side effects and problems. However, it’s also crucial to follow the aftercare instructions and give your body time to heal after an Abdominoplasty.

PREPARING FOR AN ABDOMINOPLASTY

Before undergoing an Abdominoplasty, you should be in good physical condition and at or near your optimum weight, which should be stable. Before surgery, your health will be evaluated, and if necessary, tests will be scheduled. At least one week before to surgery, you should cease using aspirin, anti-inflammatory drugs, and any over-the-counter treatments. Before your operation date, you should notify Dr. Maurizio Viel of any changes in your health. Surgery may need to be postponed if you are ill for any reason since your health and overall well-being are my top priorities when I treat you.

RECOVERING FROM AN ABDOMINOPLASTY

After an Abdominoplasty, recovery takes around six weeks. It is advised that you take a break from work for up to two weeks to give your body time to relax and heal. In order to preserve your new form and lessen pain and swelling, you will also need to wear a support garment for six weeks after surgery. To keep your stitches from being strained during this six-week recuperation time, stay away from intense exercise and activities. Although some scarring is to be expected after surgery, this will eventually go away.
