If otherwise healthy, patients who have lost a significant amount of weight through diet and exercise or after bariatric surgery may be eligible for a unique kind of lower body lift or vertical abdominoplasty.
Smokers and those with serious health issues are not appropriate for an Abdominoplasty. To receive the finest long-term results, postpone surgery if you haven’t reached your goal weight yet. Waiting until your family is complete is a good idea if you intend to have further children. Candidates should avoid having irrational expectations or being influenced by others to alter their look.
WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER AN ABDOMINOPLASTY
Following an Abdominoplasty, moderate pain, discomfort, and swelling are common, just as with any surgical operation. Excessive pain, bleeding, infection, blood clots, and numbness are among the complications and possible adverse effects. Our skilled surgeons at Cornerstone take the required precautions and employ surgical methods to prevent unfavourable side effects and problems. However, it’s also crucial to follow the aftercare instructions and give your body time to heal after an Abdominoplasty.
PREPARING FOR AN ABDOMINOPLASTY
Before undergoing an Abdominoplasty, you should be in good physical condition and at or near your optimum weight, which should be stable. Before surgery, your health will be evaluated, and if necessary, tests will be scheduled. At least one week before to surgery, you should cease using aspirin, anti-inflammatory drugs, and any over-the-counter treatments. Before your operation date, you should notify Dr. Maurizio Viel of any changes in your health. Surgery may need to be postponed if you are ill for any reason since your health and overall well-being are my top priorities when I treat you.
RECOVERING FROM AN ABDOMINOPLASTY
After an Abdominoplasty, recovery takes around six weeks. It is advised that you take a break from work for up to two weeks to give your body time to relax and heal. In order to preserve your new form and lessen pain and swelling, you will also need to wear a support garment for six weeks after surgery. To keep your stitches from being strained during this six-week recuperation time, stay away from intense exercise and activities. Although some scarring is to be expected after surgery, this will eventually go away.
