Invisalign Treatment in Dubai

Our specialist dentists look after our patients’ daily needs.

INVISALIGN CLEAR ALIGNERS

One of the most well-known clear aligner companies worldwide is Invisalign due to them being incredibly strong and hypoallergenic, a few of the reasons why our professionals highly recommend them to patients. Each patient’s set of Invisalign clear aligners is created and fitted specifically for them during the course of their treatment after obtaining an impression of their teeth. The aligners can be removed for meals, but they must be worn for at least 22 hours every day.

Since Invisalign aligners are much more discrete than traditional braces, they have become a popular orthodontic treatment choice for adults, teenagers and children.

However, when it comes to children and teenagers, we do recommend this treatment is also monitored with the parent or guardian to ensure the braces are worn for the time recommended.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Invisalign is a form-fitting orthodontic tray that places gentle pressure on your teeth. Our specialist orthodontist will design a digital treatment to slowly move to the teeth into its optimal position. This digital 3D print maps out your mouth allowing Invisalign to design customised trays removing the need for more aggressive orthodontic treatments with brackets and wires.

The trays are made from a durable thermalplastic called SmartTrack, which is free of BPA, latex, gluten is considered safe for those who suffer from allergies, for children and pregnant women.

These retainers will then be changed every few weeks according to your plan. The braces must be worn continually for at least 22-hours and through sleep to ensure the best results. The average treatment plan will be 12 – 18 months to achieve desired results but our patients notice movement and changed just in a matter of weeks.

Our dentist also recommends that patients brush and/or rinse the aligners after every meal and drinking a beverage to rinse does not count.

WHO CAN USE IT?

In addition to correcting overbites, underbites, open bites, crossbites, and overcrowded teeth, these clear braces are utilized to close spaces between teeth. Our specialists are able to decide if Invisalign is the best orthodontic treatment for you after examining your teeth meticulously.

Invisalign trays can help with the following:

  • Overlapping teeth
  • Crowding
  • Gaps between teeth
  • Misaligned jaws
  • Crooked teeth

DURING TREATMENT PROCESS

Our dentist will have regular appointments to check on the progress of the aligners. Trays are often changed after 2 – 3 weeks on average, and during the changing of the trays, some patients will more pressure and tightening during the first 24-48 hours of the next set of aligners. Our dentist may prescribe you some over-the-counter pain relievers but for most patients the discomfort is bearable.

COSTS

The cost of the Invisalign treatment is determined by your specific needs and duration required for the treatment and correction type. Our team will provide you with a quote for your consideration.

AFTER THE PROCEDURE

We recommend that you wear a retainer after any orthodontic treatment, including Invisalign. Your teeth’s alignment is maintained by a retainer as your teeth could eventually revert to their original positions.

HOW TO GET THE BEST RESULTS

Our dentist will check in on your progress every few months, and we do recommend regular teeth cleaning, and at the end of the treatment, it may be beneficial to do a teeth whitening treatment to get the best results.

The downside of having removal trays is that patients can lose their aligners or forget to put them on. We highly recommend being disciplined throughout the treatment plan to ensure time and cost-effectiveness are met.

Invisalign has quickly become the most popular orthodontic treatment to correct imperfect teeth. Whether your teeth are crooked, you have an overbite, an underbite, or gaps in your teeth, Invisalign may be able to help you achieve your perfect smile. Our highly skilled general dentist at Cornerstone Clinic Dubai, Dr. Carla Cyrino, has treated many complex cases with Invisalign and says her top priority is to provide a perfect smile that lasts.

Starting orthodontic treatment can be stressful and takes careful consideration and research, so we sat down with Dr. Carla to discuss the most common questions her patients ask when visiting her to start their Invisalign journey:

Invisalign is a virtually invisible alternative to metal braces that is also faster, cleaner, and more comfortable to wear. A series of clear plastic aligners (known as trays) are used to gradually move teeth into alignment. You will typically change your trays every two weeks until you achieve your perfect smile.

In the same way metal braces work, Invisalign clear aligners put constant pressure on the teeth, gradually moving them into the desired position. After taking a dental impression of your teeth, a series of custom-fit aligners will be made that you will change every two weeks, gradually moving your teeth. As you are supplied with a series of aligners in advance, fewer dental appointments are needed.

Every smile is unique, and therefore every Invisalign journey is unique. The treatment time will vary from patient to patient, depending on the severity of the issues that need to be corrected. On average, for mild cases, it will usually take around 6 months, and more complex cases can take from 12 to 18 months.

There are many benefits to Invisalign over metal braces, which is why they have become so popular. They are virtually invisible, more comfortable, removable, and much more aesthetically pleasing. They are more precise due to the technology that is used in the process, and this also means that the treatment times can be quicker. Invisalign aligners are more hygienic as they can be taken out to clean, and this also means you are free to eat the foods you want and brush and floss your teeth with ease.

Yes, you can; this is one of the many advantages of Invisalign aligners. Although you need to wear your trays for 22 hours a day, they offer a lot more flexibility than metal braces, which is appealing to most patients.

Yes, Invisalign aligners can be used by both adults and children; however, metal braces are sometimes more advisable for children because they are not always able to take care of the aligners in the same way an adult would and often forget about them, which would result in longer treatment times.

Invisalign clear aligners are low maintenance; you simply need to thoroughly brush them when you clean your teeth. I advise my patients to have a separate toothbrush for their aligners than they use for everyday use. If you prefer a more in-depth clean, then aligner cleaning solutions are also available.

I always advise patients to keep their previous set of aligners as a backup, just in case. If you have only just moved to the new set of aligners, then wear the previous ones and book an appointment for a replacement. If you had almost completed the time for the set of aligners you lost, then you may be able to move onto the next set, assuming they fit. If in doubt, book an appointment, and I will be able to advise you what is the best option.

Invisalign clear aligners are much more comfortable than metal braces. When you first change your trays, you may experience some minor discomfort from the pressure exerted on the teeth, but it should not be painful. It is always best to change to your next set of trays at night before you go to sleep, as the general initial discomfort should only last around 6 hours.
