DERMA FILLERS

The loss of hyaluronic acid and collagen is one of the main reasons that

skin elasticity decreases as we age. Sun exposure and years of facial

muscle movement, such as smiling, chewing, and squinting as well as

lifestyle choices, weight, and hereditary factors make our skin more

prone to wrinkles and early symptoms of aging.

WHAT ARE INJECTABLE FILLERS?

Fillers, also known as derma fillers, are gel-like injectables administered under the skin that can help decrease the effects of volume loss, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and help you contour your face, leaving a more enhanced or symmetrical appearance. There are different types of fillers available, and our team of aesthetic professionals will be able to discuss the most suitable injectable for your needs.

Some of the most popular are:

  • Hyaluronic acid
  • Poly-L-Lactic acid
  • Calcium hydroxyapatite
  • Collagen

Derma fillers can help fill in lines and creases, temporarily restoring a smoother, more youthful-looking appearance. When injected beneath the skin, dermal fillers plump up creased and sunken areas of the face. They can also add fullness to the lips and cheeks. The result is younger, healthier, fuller, and tighter skin.

PROCEDURE

The treatment takes around 20 minutes. A local anaesthetic will be injected into and around the area where you are receiving the treatment. Then, using a syringe, the surgeon will inject the filler, concentrating on your areas of concern.

It is important to remember that injectable fillers are not permanent. You should not expect the same long-lasting results that may be gained from cosmetic surgery. Injected material is eventually absorbed by the body. One of the advantages is that the results can be ‘erased’ immediately using hyalase.

BENEFITS OF FILLERS

  • Immediate results and no downtime
  • Decreases the common signs of aging
  • Restore your skin’s youthful plumpness
  • Fuller, plumper lips

  • Complements Botox treatments
  • Reduces the appearance of scars
  • Boost collagen levels

HOW LONG DO FILLERS LAST?

Fillers can last anywhere from 6 to 8 months.

WHICH IS BEST FOR YOU: BOTOX, FILLERS OR A COMBINATION OF BOTH?

When it comes to deciding which cosmetic treatment is best for you, you should always speak to a trained professional who can advise and guide you on the most suitable products and procedures for your desired results.

In short, Botox can help you reduce fine lines and wrinkles, smooth out deep lines, and enhance specific areas of your face, whereas fillers can restore lost volume, help you achieve fuller, plumper lips, enhance cheekbones and jawlines, as well as other areas as desired. Many clients use a combination of both fillers and Botox to achieve maximum results.

Yes. Botox and filler can be done together at the same time.

To help manage any discomfort during the treatment, the filler contains a local anaesthetic called lidocaine. However, if you still wish to put a numbing cream prior, this can be arranged too. You have to come 15 minutes earlier to allow the numbing cream to settle.

The results obtained will usually last for 8 to 12 months depending on the quantity of filler injected, quality of skin and lifestyle as well.

You can apply make up on 12 hours after the treatment.

There will be minimal bruising and swelling that will subside within 24 hours.

You should avoid extreme temperature treatments like sauna or hammam as well as prolonged sun exposure and UV rays for 2 weeks after the injection.
