Answering 5 Common Questions About Breast Surgery

Are you considering breast augmentation? Have you googled the subject non-stop and become overwhelmed by all of the information out there? Well we want to help! Choosing to alter the size of your breasts is a big decision – we know that – and it’s absolutely normal to have concerns and questions about opting for any kind of surgery.  So we’ve asked our expert cosmetic surgeons to share their insights into breast augmentation and answer some of the most common questions so as to help you feel more comfortable (and knowledgeable) about the procedure.

What Is Breast Augmentation

Sometimes referred to as a ‘boob job’, breast augmentation is surgery to increase breast size. It involves placing implants under the breast tissue to enhance size, shape, and volume.

Can Anyone Have Breast Augmentation Surgery?

Essentially yes! Breast Augmentation is ideal for patients with good overall health who want to increase the size or shape of their breasts. It’s also a great option for women whose breasts have changed since pregnancy, breastfeeding, or significant weight loss  – or who would like their breasts rebuilt following a medical condition.

What are the implants made of?

Implants can be saline or silicone and they come in many shapes and sizes (just like breasts do!). We will work with our patients to understand exactly what look they would like to guarantee the most perfect results.

Will I have to stay in the hospital?

Breast Augmentation Surgery takes between 1.5 – 2 hours and is performed at our Dubai Healthcare City surgery clinic – you’ll be able to go home on the same day (unless advised otherwise – whatever we think is best for you!).

How long will I be in pain after surgery?

As with any surgery, the first week or two will be the most uncomfortable and you can expect to feel a little sore and bruised as your body heals and recovers. But with rest and painkillers, this will be totally manageable. We will work with you and help you understand when best to resume certain activities (sport, heavy lifting etc). Just make sure that you have plenty of help and a good boxset or two while you recuperate. It may take a few months for complete healing but it’ll be so worth taking it slowly at first.
