Dermaplaning Vs Microneedling
Want to know more about Dermaplaning and Microneedling?
You might have heard the terms microneedling and dermaplaning but not know much about these treatments (we understand – it can be confusing!). In a nutshell, microneedling and dermaplaning are methods of reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improving the look of scars and regenerating cells. Both are minimally invasive procedures that offer no real downtime and are pain-free – so what’s the difference between the two? We’re here to explain!
What is microneedling?
Microneedling is a procedure which uses small needles to make micro-perforations in the surface of the skin. This causes the skin to react as though it is injured, stimulating the production of new collagen and elastin as part of a healing process. The depth of the needles can be cusomised so that we can work on different areas of the face which require more or less levels for the best results. And those results included fuller, smoother and more supple skin, improvement in texture and firmness and a reduction in scarring, fine lines and wrinkles.
Perfect for the treatment of: wrinkles, scarring, uneven skin texture as a result of acne and saggy skin.
Length of treatment: A very quick and convenient treatment, each session takes approximately 30 minutes.
Sessions required: We recommend getting between 4-6 microneedling sessions depending on your goals – with results being visible after 6-8 weeks.
What is dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a method of exfoliation using a blade to gently scrape off the top layer of dull, dead skin in order to reveal a smoother and brighter complexion. The blade is not used to make any incisions – it is carefully and expertly brushed back and forth at a specific angle to remove excess sin cells and debris from the epidermis. This also removes the peach fuzz (vellus hairs) from your face and stimulates the deper layers of the skin to produce more collagen.
Dermplaning doesn’t cause any peeling. It’s also really good for blocked pores & uneven skin tone and allows your skincare to be absorbed much deeper into the skin increasing the benefits
Perfect for the treatment of: excess hair, dull skin.
Length of treatment: Also quick and convenient, each session takes approximately 30 minutes.
Sessions required: After only one session your skin may peel for a couple of days (this is totally normal) – and will then look glowing!
Microneedling and dermaplaning will help you achieve smoother, younger-looking skin – and our team will advise on which is best for you.
