Rhinoplasty: It’s Not Just One Approach For All
We Talk About The Different Types Of ‘Nose Job’
Whether it’s crooked, hooked, too big – just not the right shape and not making you happy – getting a ‘nose job’ or undergoing rhinoplasty is an option to fixing it! And there are all kinds of different types of rhinoplasty depending on what you need to correct – this is definitely not a ‘one solution fits all’ procedure and you need to opt for a trusted surgeon or risk complications that will need fixing. But we’re not here to frighten you – just to reassure you! And you can be certain that our team of surgeons is highly skilled, highly experienced and motivated by genuinely wanting to help our patients look and feel their best.
So which type of nose job might be the one for you?
Standard Rhinoplasty: If you want a whole new nose!
This procedure involves correction of the bridge, tip and nostrils – changing the entire appearance of your nose. The surgeon will work on your bones and cartilage – this is probably the most ‘traditional’ of all rhinoplasty procedures and the one that everyone thinks of when they hear the term ‘nose job’.
Rhino Tip: To adjust the nose tip and nostrils. This is like a ‘mini nose job’ to improve the shape of your nasal tip if it’s bulbous or droopy and can be done using an ‘open’ or ‘closed’ method which basically means that it’s not always necessary to make an incision – results can be achieved by injecting dermal fillers too!
Preservation Rhinoplasty: This approach is less invasive and usually performed internally, resulting in a much faster healing time. Perfect for patients who are looking for the bridge of the nose to be modified – for example to fix a bump or hump, a crooked nose or a droopy tip. The surgeon will work from inside and keep the original nose structure as much as possible – correcting bone and cartilage from below. Quite amazing really!
Septo Rhinoplasty: This procedure mainly addresses problems inside the nose – straightening the septum (the cartilage in the middle of your nose) to open nasal passages and improve your breathing or even stop snoring! Often, external ‘deformities’ of the nose are caused by internal problems so this option will also alter appearance – and it’s usually carried out internally but our surgeons will decide which way is best for you.
Getting a rhinoplasty or ‘fixing’ your nose is a big decision (it’s also one of the most searched subjects on google and popular procedures!). We want to help you understand the process, know your options and love your nose, whatever you decide
