A PRP facial, also known as a vampire facial, utilises Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) derived from your own blood. During the treatment, a small amount of blood is drawn, processed to isolate the PRP, and then strategically injected into the facial skin.
PRP treatment works by taking a small amount of your own blood, usually between (8-10 ml), which is then placed into a centrifuge and spun for 10 minutes. The blood is then separated into its different components, and the platelets are concentrated. This concentrate contains up to 9 times more platelets than your regular blood. The blood platelets activate the natural stem cells that exist in the facial tissues and stimulate skin cells to produce collagen and elastin, therefore rejuvenating the skin.
The treatment takes approximately 45 minutes. A topical anaesthetic cream will be applied to the facial area to numb and ease any pain during the treatment. Once the platelet concentrate is ready, the surgeon will inject the product directly into the face, concentrating on the most problematic areas.
The results of a PRP facial are typically noticeable within a few weeks and can last for 12 to 18 months. However, individual results may vary depending on factors like age, skin condition, and lifestyle habits. To maintain optimal results, repeat treatments every 12-18 months are recommended.

The treatment involves a numbing cream, and that will be left on for 30 minutes. While you have the numbing cream on, your blood will be collected to be centrifuged to separate the rich blood platelets and plasma. This will then be applied superficially to your face using a derma pen. The whole treatment will take 1 hour to finish.
After the procedure, your face will be red for a few hours. You have to avoid direct sun exposure for the next 3 days. After that, remember to apply sunscreen when going outside.
