VASER technology was initially invented for the removal of brain tumours. VASER uses very gentle ultrasound technology set as a frequency to eliminate certain fats. The cosmetic industry then began to use it for removal of fat now known as liposuction. As it is capable of targeting brain tumours, it speak volumes of how accurate and efficient the VASER machine is.
Downsides
Many doctors around the world now use VASER but in the wrong hands, it can also produce poor results like anyone with a knife. VASER liposuction requires a surgeon with proper experience and plenty of it. Like any surgery, it carries certain risks and benefits and this should always be discussed with your surgeon. Your surgeon should also be comfortable to show you before and after photos.
Upsides
Liposuction done the traditional way was very painful and recovery was much longer compared to the VASER. Patients have less pain, bleeding, bruising and generally have a better recovery time – great in today’s time starved world. Liposuction is suitable for those who are looking to contour their body and remove stubborn fat areas that will not shift despite diet and exercise, and is not suitable for those who are just looking to lose weight.
J-Plasma
Often with patients who are looking to liposuction their stomach area, we often add J-Plasma, which uses different technology to create even more skin restriction giving better results. But in cases of larger excess skin, a tummy tuck would be recommended by Dr Maurizio Viel.

Surgery
The VASER Liposuction surgery can take between 1 – 3 hours dependent on the areas. This is performed as a day case performed at the hospital with Dr Maurizio Viel’s recommendation. This means the patient will return home the same day having done the procedure under sedation, which is not to be mistaken with general anaesthesia.
Post-Op care
Our team will look after you with a series of appointments for up to 6 months post-procedure. This will be provided to you in a plan for your VASER Liposuction.
