Liposuction in Dubai

Popular with both men and women, liposuction in Dubai helps to remove those stubborn areas of fat that no amount of diet and exercise will shift. Also known as body sculpting, the results can be dramatic, leaving your body looking slimmer, younger, and more contoured.

What is liposuction?

Liposuction, more commonly known as Lipo, is a surgical procedure that uses a suction technique to remove stubborn areas of fat from specific areas of the body, such as the abdomen, hips, thighs, buttocks, arms, or neck, giving a more contoured shape. As it offers such remarkable results, liposuction has become one of the most popular forms of cosmetic procedures globally.

What are the benefits of liposuction?

Some of the many benefits of liposuction include:

  • Sculpts the body by permanently removing excess fat deposits.
  • Achieves results that cannot be achieved through diet and exercise.
  • Offers almost immediate results, apart from swelling that will take a few weeks to subside.
  • Can help to improve self-confidence.
  • Encourages a healthier lifestyle to maintain your results.

What areas can be treated with liposuction?

Our board-certified surgeons will assess your personal needs and will recommend the most suitable surgery for you. However, broadly speaking, liposuction can be performed on the below areas:

  • Upper and lower abdomen
  • Flanks
  • Upper and lower back
  • Upper arms
  • Thighs (inner, outer, anterior, or posterior)
  • Breasts
  • Calves and ankles
  • Buffalo hump (excess fat behind the shoulders and neck)
  • Buttocks
  • Knees

What is the procedure for liposuction?

Before your liposuction procedure, there will be an initial consultation with one of our board-certified surgeons who will assess your body and recommend the correct procedure for your personal needs. Once this is agreed upon, you will be booked in for your surgery. The procedure generally takes around one to two hours, depending on the area being treated and how much fat is being removed. Your surgeon will make a small incision in the area being treated and a cannula tube will be inserted that is attached to a powerful vacuum device that removes the fat quickly and efficiently. The incision is then closed with sutures and your surgery is complete. Liposuction is usually performed as a day surgery, which means you can leave the same day with no need for overnight stays.

What is the recovery process for liposuction?

The recovery process is individual for each patient based on the area being treated and the amount of fat being removed. You will be supplied with full aftercare instructions by your surgeon prior to surgery. You will also be given pain medication and you will receive a compression garment to reduce swelling and to support the contouring of the treated area.

In the first few days’ post-surgery, there will naturally be some swelling and bruising, and we advise you to rest as much as possible during this time. After one week, you will need to return to the clinic for an assessment and for your sutures to be removed. Within two to three weeks post-surgery, you should be able to return to your normal daily routines, including exercise.

After six to eight weeks post-surgery, you should now be able to stop wearing your compression garment, and you will start to see the results of your surgery. A further follow-up appointment will then take place to assess the results and healing of the treated area.

Am I a good candidate for liposuction

Liposuction is a procedure best suited for body sculpting rather than weight loss. Therefore, you should be in good health and your BMI (body mass index) will need to be assessed to ensure you are a suitable candidate for surgery. Liposuction is, however, popular with both men and women, and, providing the criteria are met, can help people of all ages achieve their desired results.
