Everything You Need To Know About Invisalign
Invisalign Aligners For A Perfectly Straight and Beautiful Smile
If you’ve always wanted perfectly straight teeth but you missed that all-important braces phase then don’t panic, your dream set of pearly whites is still available without the need for metal braces (train tracks aren’t a great look at any age). Here’s where Invisalign come in– it’s the word on everyone’s lips (and the current must-have on everyone’s teeth!). But what exactly is it? We’re here to tell you more…
Invisalign are like braces… only they’re clear, they’re discreet and they aren’t permanently fixed to your teeth). And they’re very effective!
An Invisalign aligner is custom made to your teeth. It’s made of very special clear durable transparent material which you can pop on and off your teeth – almost unnoticeable.
Every 7-10 days (depending on your teeth) you will exchange your Invisalign aligner for a new one – this makes sure that your teeth are being positioned correctly all the time. Our specialist dentist will create a unique plan for you, mapping out the exact movements of your teeth and ensuring that your aligners are applying the right amount of pressure exactly where they should.
You should wear your Invisalign aligner for 20 – 22 hours each day – yes even in your sleep and only taking the set out to eat/hot drinks/brush your teeth or, occasionally (because every hour counts with Invisalign) if you’re going out and just don’t want to wear them!
You’ll start seeing results in just a few weeks…but each treatment plan is completely unique and based on your dental goals and issues so your perfect smile might take a few months to achieve.
There’s no pain but you may experience some pressure because your teeth are gradually moving and being positioned by the Invisalign aligner. Our dentist are always available to answer your queries and deal with any discomfort.
Taking care of your aligners is easy – simply brush and rinse them everyday (we also provide special cleaning crystals) – and remember to brush your teeth after every meal and before you put the aligners back in (this will help avoid discolouration and protect your teeth too).
Once your treatment is finished our dentist will make sure that they offer you the best solutions to ensure that your teeth stay in position – and you will have that gorgeous smile you’ve always dreamed of!
