Let’s go over the key steps in the breast augmentation procedure and give you a general idea of what to anticipate. Before your breast augmentation consultation, you should read up on the process and write down any questions you may have. Make a list of the breasts you like and don’t like, and show your surgeon the before and after photos. We also recommend finding a trustworthy confidant, like a friend or family member, to assist you during your appointment.
At your appointment with your surgeon, you will discuss your medical history, your goals for breast surgery, any concerns you may have, and the rationale for the breast implant procedure. As we mentioned before, it helps to communicate your desired appearance to the surgeon by showing them photos of your favourite and least favourite breasts.
In order for your surgeon to take measurements and recommend the best sizes and options for you, you should arrange a sizing session during or after your appointment. Using a sizer bra allows you to try on various sizes. Your surgeon should discuss with you the various possibilities for round or teardrop-shaped implants and recommend the one that best suits your needs. Your surgeon will discuss different strategies with you, such as where to put breast augmentation scars and whether to position the implant in front or behind the muscle, depending on your anatomy and measurements. Because every individual is different, it is essential that the procedure and implant be tailored to you.
Following your consultation with the surgeon, you will be assigned a patient coordinator who will help you along the route and act as your Cornerstone point of contact in case you need any information or direction.
You should avoid driving and heavy lifting for at least a week after surgery, according to the aftercare instructions your surgeon gave you. Even while it’s important to rest in the days following surgery, we also recommend that you stay active and mobile. Most patients return to work within two weeks following the therapy, and many are back to their regular routines by that time as well, even though activity should be avoided for six weeks. You may experience some discomfort after surgery, which you can control with painkillers. Additionally, you may experience some soreness and swelling in your breasts.
You will have your initial follow-up appointment one week following surgery. A nurse will examine you, change your dressings, and provide you any advice that is required. You will see the surgeon again around six weeks following the operation. As part of our unique aftercare package, you will have unlimited appointments for three years after your treatment.
