BREAST ENLARGEMENT SURGERY IS ONE OF THE MOST COMMONLY PERFORMED COSMETIC PROCEDURES

BREAST ENLARGEMENT DUBAI | 7 DECEMBER 2024

Breast enlargement surgery is the most commonly performed cosmetic operations. Properly performed it has a high rate of patient satisfaction.

The technique is suitable for patients who want to address slight sagging and/or boost the size and fullness of their breasts. Women who have always had small breasts or who have lost breast volume after having children are typically the ones who choose to have breast enlargement surgery.

The way that breast enlargement surgery is viewed has changed during the past ten years. Although this kind of surgery has historically been a volume operation – that is, enlarging the breasts – it is now also considered a reshaping procedure, in which the breast’s size and form must naturally fit the patient’s body type and proportions. The goal of this method is to create a more natural-looking breast without going over or harming the breast’s natural boundaries.

In order to increase the size and contour of the breast, an implant is placed beneath the patient’s breast tissue. Although saline is an alternative, silicone makes up the great majority of implants in Dubai. Implants can be positioned behind the breast and chest wall/muscle (submuscular placement) or immediately behind the breast (subglandular placement). The implants are typically placed by making an incision at the crease beneath the breast, but they can also be placed by making an incision around the nipple or in the armpit.

Under general anaesthesia, breast augmentation surgery takes one to one and a half hours to complete. The actual procedure is using one of the insertion routes—the breast crease, armpit, or nipple – to reach and create the pocket into which the implant will be inserted.

Following the creation of the pocket, the incision wounds are sutured and the implant is placed. Many people stay in the hospital for one night, but you could be able to return home that same day. With these methods, post-operative discomfort is easily managed. Within six weeks, patients should resume full exercise, as they will be mobile from day one. It is advised that patients take about two weeks off work right after the procedure to make sure they properly recover.

The technique that was employed will determine the type of scars that are left behind. In the first six weeks, scars are typically extremely red; during the next three months, they turn purple, and then fade to white. Over time, the majority of patients will have high-quality scars.
